Okay, so Chris and Christina are on their way to Ethiopia to get Aiden and here is a recent picture. I can't wait to hold him! What a great smile...:)

Snow tubing!

I went snow tubing on Saturday up in the South Hills (a portion of the Sawtooth Mountains). The area is about an hour from Twin. The snow was so deep! The area is part of the sawtooth national forest and in the summer is a campsite. Apparently, it doesn't matter to people here whether it's cold or hot: camping is for any weather. The difference is the gear you bring. People were out in full force: there were tubes, skis, boards and snow mobiles EVERYWHERE. People were grilling out in the snow, drinking beer... it was crazy and fun!

On the road again ...

Okay, after extreme pressure from several parties, I will begin posting again. I'll try to keep it interesting, but - let's be honest: day to day life just ISN'T that exciting. So, a few updates: Elizabeth flew out to see me in Idaho and she and I drove home for Christmas. We ended up going through a GI-normous snowstorm and barely made it home in time. NOW: Mom and I are driving back to Idaho (where I have extended my current job through the end May at least) and Mom will be flying back from next week. We're having a fun time and stopping to seee family on the way. We're staying in Ogallala NE tonight and doing some sightseeing ... SWEET!

Not much going on here, just getting to know people. In a conversation with Christina a couple of days ago, she was giving me a hard time about not meeting people yet: you know, because I've been here a whole 4 weeks. We should already be getting best friend tattoos. In the course of the conversation, we came up with a brilliant idea: I am to stand on the corner with a sign that says "WILL WORK FOR FRIENDS". I'll let you know how it turns out...

Settling in...

Okay, so I have worked the last 6 days so I haven't been able to get out and see any more, BUT - I've met a few of my neighbors and it's so funny - they actually have a welcome packet for my street/circle that tells a short life story about every person, including their emergency contact information. What?:) It's actually really cute. Everyone has been so nice. M has a kid named Ben that comes in to walk her while I'm at work and this week, I got a note from him that said M got into a fight with another dog, so: she did not get her treat that day:). I love it! He's really sweet with her. It snowed on my way in to work the other morning, just a few flurries... but definitely snow. I don't know if I'm prepared for this....:)

The Falls!

I went exploring at Shoshone Falls today, also known as "The Niagara of the West". The water actually falls higher from these falls; there's your factoid for the day:). And the second picture: it seems every new place holds a hazard for M!:) I'm settled in my new place so I threw a picture on here of it - it's great! I have a brand new townhome WITH a garage. It could be a shack and still be great as long as it had a garage:) ha ha. I have a neighbor kid who's going to take M out after school and other than that, nothing much is going on. I'm missing everyone a lot. This is always my favorite time of year, but it's not as much fun when you don't know anybody. In time...
